Making your wordpress blog URL search engine frienldly is very easy using permalinks features, here is a step by step procedure..
Step 1:
Log-in to your wordpress blog and go to customize permalink options. Dashboard > Options > Permalinks
Step 2:
Select Custom Structure from the options, then type /%postname%
Step 3:
you dont want to lose traffic when you change your permalinks structure do you? download Permalink Migration Plugin what this plugin do is it applies a 301 redirect or permanent redirect to your old url so that whenever someone access your site with your old url, that someone will be redirected to the new url, it is also a great way to tell search engines that you have change your URL structure so that when they crawl your site again search engines will update your links in their index.

URLs aren’t that important for search engines. For humans, yes. But SEs don’t pay much attention to URL structure.

I’m always surprised at how many blogs I see that still use the default url path. I don’t know if it’s because people don’t realize they can and should change it or because they don’t know how.
